XCOM 2 is a brief continuation of the game in the genre of tactical strategy, the first part of which was released in 2012 and gathered a huge number of fans around the world. The events will take the player twenty years after the story in the first part, which ended with the world leaders signing an unconditional surrender.

Alien invaders began to lead the world and gained full control over all aspects of activities, as well as over human lives. Now, the large-scale and once powerful organization called XCOM was closed once and for all. Aliens began to build a multifunctional city, promising the entire population a bright future.

But the promises were not fulfilled because everything was done to destroy humanity. This is known only to those people who belonged to the organization XCOM, so they decided to immediately begin to act and eliminate all the aliens by any means available.

Agents of the organization use the entire arsenal of guerrilla warfare, attract earthlings to their organization, strike at aliens in the most vulnerable places, and develop and implement the tactics of battles with the enemy. After all, the aliens are hatching secret sinister plans that are aimed at the destruction of those who oppose the new rules.

You have to commit terrorist attacks, organize guerrilla raids to sabotage the activities of the aliens, and unite people from all over the planet. Instead of an underground base-flying, old alien transport “Avenger”, WHICH XCOM has been repaired. Developing the base is exactly the same: first, clear a place for construction (from the holds of the Avenger discarded scrap), then fit the new compartments in the laboratory, and invent and implement new tools to fight the invaders in the workshop.

The most large-scale development of aliens and the most likely cause of the defeat is the mysterious project “Avatar”. The indicator of its progress is constantly placed above the map. When full, it means the Resistance will lose. The work on the project can be slowed down and pushed back, but it cannot be stopped. But it is easy to accelerate as “Advent” constantly opens and factories across the land.

“Avatar” is moving rather slowly and requires no more attention than the growing panic in the countries conquered previously. But the factories need to be destroyed regularly and quickly — if you allow them to be built, they will bring the project to fruition in a couple of months and then you have to start the game again.
