I’m MR 8, beat TWW not too long ago. I’ve got every planet except for Eris unlocked, and I’m starting to get bored. I want to do sorties, but I don’t know if I’m ready for such high-level content. How do I make sure my equipment is ready for sorties? What should I know before I start?
Bring good enough weapons and frames. You also can’t bring a <30 frame.
Be familiar with modding, and enemy weaknesses.
Don’t bring anything you’re unfamiliar with. No zero forma, zero potato Banshee, unless you actually know what you are doing.
Enemies are much harder than starchart. Level 100 enemies are normal. Please, please, equip accordingly.
Consumables can also help out.
At least have some clue of what you’re doing in every mission type. Don’t walk into Rescue wondering what the objective is (just an example).
Be aware of what mission modifiers are going to occur per mission.
Have at least one type of every class of weapon (shotguns, snipers, assault rifles, pistols, melee, etc.) for weapon specific modifiers.
Be familiar with fighting various factions.
This is more specific, but Rescue will initiate the timer the moment you enter the cell.
If you want more leeway, bring the default Liset for Air Support. It can delay the Rescue/Spy timer, saving your (or other people’s) ass in bad situations.
If you don’t know how to do a mission, better to own up that you need carrying than to cause trouble for the squad. This is particularly important in spy – admitting that you need help is better than tripping an alarm.
On the note of spy, spy requires all three vaults.
Know how to hack, there are no ciphers to save you. This is mostly important in Rescue and Spy.
Most importantly of all, and I guess to sum this up: Don’t be a dumbass, and take on more than you can chew. Do what you can, contribute as much as you can, and try not to piss people off (unless you’re doing this with 3 other friends, then screw around as much as you like).
