I’ve recently returned to the game after 10 months (I stopped playing when it was still Shadow/Vanquisher meta) and now I’m looking for a list of maybe TOP 5 guns of each type and some hidden gems (weapons that are really decent, just underrated).
Best Weapons
I’m no expert and just got back from a 3 month break myself, but I have played with the most recent balance changes.
Some guns of certain types I would only consider great if you have the siphon or maybe the concussive variants which will take you hundreds of hours to get for all of the UR guns.
The game is balanced enough on Gold so that almost any Rank X weapon can be viable.
Ignoring what your manifest is, the top 5 IMO is:

Guns that are weird or bad that I would not recommend outside of using it for the challenge:
