I never have made anything other than folders and text files. How do I make this file it needs to let mods work? tutorial please on how to make this kind of file. I got the lines from nexus so I just need to know how to create the file with notepad. call me computer iliterate I am so give me some slack, please.
OK, here’s a step by step:
Note: If you can’t see the file extensions, select “View” and check the “File Name Extensions” box.
First, you should Not add mods to the game until you play a few hours and make sure the vanilla game runs well for you. Depending on the mods you install it can make a difference how well the game performs. For example, you should monitor your fps in the vanilla game to get a baseline for how well the game performs with your rig. Mods can easily cause performance issues and without knowing what fps you get with the vanilla game you won’t know if or how much a mod has hurt your performance. Play until you at least reach Concord and better Diamond City. Once you get near Downtown Boston almost everyone takes somekind of a hit to their fps. You Really need to play the game First!
Now, once you leave the vault and get as far as the Red Rocket station the game will have created the Fallout4Custom.ini.
What goes in it and in the correct order is;
There are a few mods that recommend it. I don’t have STRINGS there and my mods work fine.
If by chance the game does not create the Fallout4Custom.ini you can create it yourself. To do that, open notepad and don’t type anything. Click the file tab at the top then click save. Now name the file Fallout4Custom.ini and click save at the bottom. By default that will save it to Documents. Find it then drag and drop it into your Documents/My Games/Fallout 4 folder. Then add what I told you above. nexus mods will now work.
