Why focus farm?
The daily limit per day is 250k + (5k x Your Mastery Rank) focus.
The following is a list of focus skills and passives that may be of interest to you. All waybound passives are useful in Eidolon Captures. Of course this is player preference and there may be other useful skills and passives, but these are good for general purpose.
ZENURIK
Zenurik is probably the most used focus school by the player base, because of energizing dash.

Eidolon Shards
Eidolon Shards are rewarded for capturing Eidolon Teralysts, Gantulysts, and Hydrolysts. Brilliant Eidolon Shards reward 25k per shard, and Radiant Eidolon Shards reward 40k per shard. These shards do not count toward the 250k per day limit, so it is possible to focus farm more than 250k per day!
Capturing the Teralyst, Gantulyst, and Hydrolyst yields a total of 3 brilliant shards and 2 radiant shards which equates to 155k focus. Two to four triple captures can be done per night (50 minutes) which amounts to 310k, 465k, or 620k focus.
The focus of this guide, however, is meeting the daily 250k focus limit from affinity since players might opt to do both or choose not to run eidolons.
What You’ll Need
The particular mission in screen shot net a total of 127,920 focus points. We’ll be focus farming at the exterminate mission on Sedna, Adaro. The following setup results in about 90k-150k per mission. Meeting the 250k cap takes 2 missions on Adaro. Equinox can clear the mission in about 7 minutes per mission that equates to 15 minutes. Banshee can clear about half that time if played correctly. All of the following items aren’t needed. I’m just showing the fastest way, so you can opt out of some of them. If missing any of the +affinity items, reaching 250k focus may take 15-45 minutes which is still very doable and isn’t a huge amount of time.
Banshee Or Equinox
Banshee’s third ability, Silence, provides a stealth kill affinity bonus up to +500% affinity.
Night Equinox’ second ability, Rest, also provides a stealth kill affinity bonus.

Whips and polarms have the highest melee range and will make life easier.

2x Eidolon Lens
Eidolon Lenses convert 2.25% of excess Affinity into Focus points, which is 29% more than a Greater Focus Lens, and 80% more than a regular Focus lens. The Eidolon Lens you will install on the warframe and weapon. You will also only bring the Warframe and chosen melee weapon. No nothing else equipped except optional sentinel.

Energy Restores
2-4 large energy restores(or 4-8 medium energy restores) depending on build per mission. (Equinox build section explains a setup that doesn’t require energy restores)

Equinox Rest Build With Arcane Energize
Rest lasts about 40 seconds. Allowing more time to sleep as many enemies before grabbing convergence orbs. This build is to maximize focus gain at the cost of some energy efficiency. With this build 1 mission typically costs 2-4 large energy restores (or 4-8 medium energy restores). If you want to cut energy restore usage by half, use the build below. If you want even more duration, switch out Mobilize or Cunning Drift with Augur Message.
Equinox Rest Build Without Arcane Energize
Rest lasts about 30 seconds. This build doesn’t allow as many enemies to be put to sleep before grabbing convergence orbs, but still gives enough time to sleep many enemies. It has max energy efficiency to compensate for no arcane energize. When energy is depleted, we will use energy restores. Alternatively at the cost of +45% affinity from melee kills, we can swap Naramon Affinity Spike with Zenurik Energizing Dash to avoid using energy restores. Enemy Radar can also be replaced with Energy Siphon. Mobolize can be replaced with augment mod, “Calm & Frenzy.”
Banshee Build
Banshee is much easier to setup than Equinox and is potentially a lot faster than Equinox if played correctly. Silence will last 62 seconds and any enemies within 20 meters will be affected. When an enemy is initially silenced it will be stunned for 3.5 seconds. It is in this time window, that the enemy must be killed, because after that enemies will gain consciousness and if they spot you, you will lose the affinity bonus. Banshee is potentially much quicker than even Equinox because Banshee will not have to cast Silence frequently. Mobilize can be replaced by Maglev if using a whip. If you’re having energy issues, then swap for Fleeting Expertise.
Melee Build
It is important to 1-shot enemies, because after being attacked enemies will be alerted losing the precious +500% affinity bonus from Equinox’ Rest. If for some reason, you are having trouble 1-shotting enemies, you can swap out Enemy Radar on Equinox for Corrosive Projection and/or install an Arcane Fury set.

Sedna, Adaro
Convergence Orb
Convergence Orbs last 45 seconds and give 8x affinity.
The most important steps to achieve large focus gains are resting all enemies to proc the +500% stealth affinity kill bonus, grabbing the convergence orb, and killing as many rested enemies as possible within the 45 second time frame. Kills done without a convergence orb give an insignificant amount of focus. Rarely, a game is bugged and no convergence orbs spawn. If so, immediately abort.
Note that this exterminate mission was done without an affinity booster. I earned 60,027 focus. With an affinity booster that gain would have been 120,054.
A message in the upper center of the screen will display, when daily cap is reached. At that point, aborting the mission is okay and all focus gain will not be lost.
Optional Macro
Referring to macro use, this is a statement from DE:
“What we do not tolerate from any of our players is complete automation, such as auto aiming, targeting, leaving your Warframe farming for kills or any action that could remove the human element from the game. With that being said, you can use macros at your own risk but depending on how you’re using the macro, it could potentially get you banned; so be careful!”
The following macro only spams 2 continuously and in no way a complete automation. I’ve been using spam type macros for a couple years with no problem! This macro makes life easier and potentially increases the amount of focus gain per mission. With this macro, all you need to do is mouse over areas, and rest will be casted automatically. This is faster than manually pointing at enemies and casting rest. It’s best to put enemies to rest as fast as possible to squeeze in as many kills during the 45 second focus boost from convergence orbs.
DIRECTIONS
- Download and install Autohotkey – Link
- Right click anywhere on the desktop and select create a new autohotkey script and name it equinoxrest or whatever name you like.
- Right click the newly created ahk file and select open file with notepad
- Copy and paste the code below into the notepad
- Run the new file equinoxsleep.ahk
- In-game, mouse scroll up to activate the macro and mouse scroll down to deactivate.
The keybinds can be changed by replacing wheelup and wheeldown with keys of your choice.
These key binds are based on American key layout. If you have a different layout, you must replace 2 with the correct key that casts Equinox’ second ability, Rest.

Alternative Warframes
Equinox is highly recommended, because of her ease of use. If for some reason, you do not want to use Equinox, here are alternatives. They each have clear disadvantages compared to Equinox.
LOKI
Loki and Octavia are pretty good alternatives. They both can go invisible, although they won’t consistently proc stealth affinity boost. According to a small sample of tests, it took me 40-50% more time to reach 250k compared to Equinox. For the mission, just go invisible and kill everything. Try to be extra quick while boosted by convergence orbs. Because Loki and Octavia do not have to spend time casting Rest like Equinox, each run is faster, but with less focus gain. Instead of taking 2 runs at adaro, Loki and Octavia may take little over 5 runs with each run taking much less time.
OCTAVIA
Octavia works the same way as Loki using her invisibility to proc stealth affinity boost. Octavia’s disadvantage to Loki, is her slower movement speed. She does, however, have constant invisibility, while Loki has to recast and be visible for a short period. Being visible risks alert status, but in my Loki runs it wasn’t much of a problem.
IVARA
Her sleep arrow has a radius of 16.8 meters and a duration of 20.7 seconds. Ivara’s disadvantage is her low range and long cast time.
RHINO
Rhino’s stomp has a great range of 62.5 meters but its disadvantage is its low duration of 12.56 seconds.
