Guaranteed Corrupted Mods: A Brief How-To – Warframe

Warframe Corrupted Mods

Hey guys! So, I’m new to the community, I’ve only been playing for about a month, but I’ve already jumped to MR7 and I’m really looking forward to experiencing everything this game has to offer.

Whether you’re newer like me, or a veteran player, most people eventually run into the late game grind of running Orokin Derelict missions with Dragon Keys for those sweet, sweet corrupted mods. I only just started doing these myself, but being in a rural part of the country, it’s hard for me to play with other people sometimes without my internet crashing. And so, I usually run these missions solo.

After a couple days of grinding these to very little payout, I came up with a way to GUARANTEE a corrupted mod for every 1x Dragon Key (regardless of which one) and every 1x Orokin Derelict Key (also doesn’t matter which kind.)

I’m sure there are plenty of people here that will roll their eyes at the obviousness of this method, and perhaps it’s already been posted somewhere else, but I haven’t been able to find it.

So, without further ado, here is the method I use for running missions:

  1. Equip Limbo as your warframe.

Each dragon key debuff had more detrimental effects on some warframes than others (I.E. -75% shield with Inaros being unaffected), but any warframe can successfully equip and complete a mission with any key. The reason I recommend Limbo is that exploring the tileset, regardless of which mission you’re on, can sometimes take a while. Being able to stay in the rift for the duration of your exploration is very helpful.

2) Pick Derelict Capture.

I’m aware that Exterminate had a smaller tileset map than Capture does, but running capture means you only need to kill one enemy, which is far easier for some people.

3) Play the mission until you take out the capture target.

If you’re using Limbo, this also means you can capture the target while in the rift, removing the risk of being mowed down by a group of enemies.

4) Search for the door.

Once you find the door, you can see if you match up. If you do, great! You can grab the treasure and head to extraction.

If you don’t, you can abandon the mission immediately, and you will have kept both your dragon key and your derelict key. Rinse, repeat.

I understand that this sounds tedious, but if you’re one of the few playing by yourself, you’re saving yourself from wasting more resources crafting a key for every attempt at a vault.

Thanks for reading, and please let me know if this is already posted somewhere. I don’t want to sound like a broken record, but I thought this might help some people if I shared my experience.

Happy hunting, Tenno!

EDIT: I corrected the information on here that was false and/or incorrect. Thank you to those people who were kind enough to point them out to me.
